@Kutchkutch, Svartava: can you make a category for navaratnas, tatsamas and tadbhavas like for ഇടവം (iṭavaṁ) AleksiB 1945 (talk) 14:35, 27 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

@AleksiB 1945 Tatsamas are direct borrowings from Sanskrit so they already have a category; tadbhavas are generally defined in New Indo-Aryan languages like Hindi, Marathi, etc. so I'm not sure it should be defined or not for Malayalam but @Kutchkutch, Pulimaiyi might know better regarding pair iṭavaṁ and r̥ṣabhaṁ. And also category for navaratnas doesn't seem much useful, if you want you can just list them in the Malayalam page for navaratna. Svartava (talk) 17:10, 27 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Kutchkutch, thanks for the information, that was something new! Svartava (talk) 13:13, 4 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
@AleksiB 1945, Svartava: Perhaps having an auto-table template such as T:table:navaratnas/ml would be a more effective way to display the names of the navaratnas in various languages rather than categories. Kutchkutch (talk) 14:06, 4 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Table seems better AleksiB 1945 (talk) 14:19, 4 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Kutchkutch: There are Skt loans both raw and nativized (rSabham, iTavam) and also Pkt loans both raw and nativized (acchan/daNNam?, vaTTi), arent raw loans in both cases called tatsama and nativized ones tadbhava? ml wiki considers a loan from any language which underwent phonetic and lexical change to be a tadbhava and rawer words to be tatsama like āspatri-hōspiṟṟal AleksiB 1945 (talk) 14:27, 4 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Kutchkutch, Svartava: How about a table for the Sanskritic solar and Saka calendars? the Sanskrit solar calendar is still used in Keralam. Currently {{table:zodiac/ml}} is being used for it. AleksiB 1945 (talk) 13:29, 11 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
