Synonyms? Typos?

Hi,

can anyone clarify the difference between ‘sæternesdæg’, ‘sæteresdæg’, and ‘sæterndæg’, as well as that between ‘wódnesdæg’ and ‘Wodnesdæg’? Also, is the capitalization of ‘Tiwesdæg’ and ‘Wodnesdæg’ intentional?

There is no difference between the different forms of Saturday; lots of variants are found. The first one is the most ‘regular’. As for capitalisation, er...it's a complicated subject....the Anglo-Saxons didn't use capitalisation at all, but it has become conventional to capitalise in certain cases, eg with personal names or place-names. I think originally I capitalised those which were named after gods (eg Tiwesdæg) but decapitalised those which weren't (eg monandæg). Probably all of the days of the week should be under capitalised entries, I will try and move them this week. wódnesdæg should not really exist, it's a hangover from the early days of Wiktionary when OE forms were still entered with accents – see Wiktionary:About Old English.
