Category for words in Finnish that have similar etymologies to English words?

[edit]

I've been thinking that this would be a useful list to have, particularly for language learning. I want to know what other people think, and what category it would fit best in if it were to be added. It might also be good to have lists for more than one language, not just English. 3SiameseCats (talk) 12:41, 26 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

I would consider it to be trivia that isn't particularly useful for most dictionary users. The closest one can reasonably get is Category:Finnish internationalisms. — SURJECTION / T / C / L / 13:04, 26 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
That is the closest I could find also, but I'm more interested in words like "pari" and "pair", or "kirkko" and "church", which don't fit in that category. Probably simplest to describe it as etymologically related words. 3SiameseCats (talk) 13:46, 26 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
