Category talk:Ancient Greek terms suffixed with -εια

It seems that many Greek words ending in -eia throw the accent back to the syllable before, i.e. the third syllable from the end which, incidentally, is as far back as the accent can go. However, there are exceptions. Among them is politeia and moicheia both of which carry an acute accent on the second iota and also glukeia which carries a circumflex or perispomenon accent on the epsilon and iota which comprise the second last syllable. I would like to know if it is possible to formulate a general rule to cover the accentuation of all these words. Can anyone help please? Mantovano (talk) 08:20, 30 September 2018 (UTC)
