Proto-West Germanic z-stem nouns.
These nouns are neuter, typically with the following endings:
- in the nominative singular: the bare stem;
- in the genitive singular: -iʀi (with Germanic umlaut of roots in -e-);
- in the nominative plural: -iʀu (with Germanic umlaut of roots in -e-).
The stem classes are named from the perspective of Proto-Germanic and may not still be visible in Proto-West Germanic inflections.
