The suffix -nák is proscribed as the ending of the first-person singular indefinite conditional form of back-vowel verbs (exceptionally, this suffix does not harmonize with the vowel quality of the word in standard Hungarian). This suffix is accepted only to indicate the third-person plural definite conditional form of these verbs (e.g. ők írnák a levelet (“they would write the letter”).
