Arabic form-X verbs where the prefix assumes a modified form and partly assimilates to the initial root consonant. These verbs have the form اِسْفَالَ (isfāla) instead of normal اِسْتَفَالَ (istafāla), e.g. اِسْطَاعَ (isṭāʕa, “to be able”), the reduced variant of اِسْتَطَاعَ (istaṭāʕa). The first radical is always coronal, and the last part of the prefix is elided before it. These are normally found only in the Koran.
