Arabic form-VII verbs where the prefix assumes a modified form and partly assimilates to the initial root consonant. These verbs have the form اِمَّعَلَ (immaʕala) instead of normal اِنْمَعَلَ (inmaʕala), e.g. اِمَّحَى (immaḥā, “to be erased, to disappear”), the reduced variant of اِنْمَحَى (inmaḥā). The first always م (m), and the prefix assimilates completely to it. Unlike other reduced verbs, these are found in common usage today.
