Cal king (plural Cal kings)

  1. (informal) A California king (a large bed measuring 72 × 84 inches).
  2. (informal) The California kingsnake (Lampropeltis getula californiae, a nonvenomous colubrid snake endemic to the western United States and northern Mexico).
    • 2007, Russ Case, Snakes, Irvine, C.A.: Advanced Vivarium Systems, →ISBN, page 71, column 2:
Adult Cal kings average about 4 feet (1.2 m) in length, so an enclosure similar in size to a 20-gallon (76-L) aquarium is fine for them.
