Budschop
Appearance
Dutch
[edit]Etymology
[edit]First attested as Budehop in 1835. Potentially a compound of boede (“cottage, shack, hovel”) and schop (“shed, warehouse”). A proposed link to dialectal bolschup (“spade used to dig trenches in peat bogs”) does not match the oldest attestations of the toponym.
Pronunciation
[edit]Proper noun
