Etymology

[edit]

The last part is horn (horn) (an ending used for several Norwegian mountain names, compare German Matterhorn; from a certain angle, a part of the mountain can remind a horn). The first part is probably related to verb bita (to bite).

Proper noun

[edit]

Bitihorn n

  1. A mountain in Norway, on the border between Vang and Øystre Slidre, close to Beitostølen
