Etymology

From beş (five) +‎ barmaq (finger), (lit: "five-fingered") because of shape of the mountain. Similar to Turkish Beşparmak (five-fingered), Greek Πενταδάκτυλος (Pentadáktylos, five-fingered) (mountain of the Kyrenia).
