Dutch
[edit]Etymology
[edit]First attested as Bavinkel in 1830-1855. Potentially derived from a compound of Old Dutch Bavo (a personal name) suffixed with the collectivising suffix -ing- and lo (“light forest”). The toponym is difficult to interpret due to a paucity of old attestations.
