- A former name, until 2004, of Balakleia (a village, the administrative centre of Balakleia rural hromada, Cherkasy Raion, Cherkasy Oblast, the Ukraine).
- A city, the administrative centre of the urban hromada of the same name of Izium Raion, Kharkiv Oblast, the Ukraine, founded in 1663, perhaps on the site of an earlier Tatar settlement.
- Synonym: (former name [1817–1891]) Novo-Serpukhiv
