[edit]The concept was introduced by Jacques Babinet in 1859, and further explained in 1860 by Karl Ernst von Baer.
Proper noun
[edit]- (geography) A law describing how the river formation is influenced by the Earth's rotation: erosion occurs mostly on the right banks of rivers in the Northern Hemisphere and the left banks of rivers in the Southern Hemisphere.
