    • 1921, “Roepa-roepa kanjaho”, in Volksalmanak Soenda III, Bale Poestaka, Nganjahokeun Madhab, page 154:
Pikeun nganjahokeun madhab, salianna koe padoman, pikeun di dieu mah, di Hindia Nederland sok marake oge palintangan, njaeta make patokan Bentang Tjakra, anoe koe oerang Djawa sok disĕboet „lintang goeboeg pentjeng”, atawa koe basa Walanda dingaranan „Zuider Kruis”.
In order to know one's direction, apart from a compass, here in the Netherlands Indies, astronomy is often used. It uses the Star of the Cross, which the Javanese call "lintang gubug penceng" (the star of the crooked hut), or as the Dutch name it, "Zuiderkruis" (Southern Cross).
