Appendix talk:Georgian noun declension

I think two important things are missing from this page:

1. An example for a word that loses a vowel in some forms, such as წელი (c̣eli) or მეგობარი (megobari).
2. The cliticized postpositions.

These two are important for non-native speakers wanting to look up a word in a Georgian dictionary given an arbitrary word form. It's information necessary for lemmatizing a noun, since of course dictionaries only list lemma forms. — hippietrail (talk) 18:22, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Vowel weakening.

Comment: either ო (o) → ვ (v) or ა (a) → ვ (v) happens. Examples: მინდორი (mindori) → მინდვრის (mindvris)

     ნიორი (niori) → ნივრის (nivris)

This ა (a) → ვ (v) definitely needs an example if it actually were to exist. I doubt it because originally v came up because when o got deleted, it would leave a nonsyllabic u which in some cases got deleted, but in some cases it managed to stay alive and, as this always happened, changed into a v.
