Etymology

Modified from various forms such as ithil and later thilevril in Tolkien’s earlier conception of the language (‘Noldorin’). Diegetically explained as mith (pale grey) + a derivative of the Primitive Elvish root *ril- (‘brilliant light, glitter’).
