Etymology

Only attested in Tolkien’s earlier conception of the language (‘Noldorin’), where it originally meant ‘dog’ before being changed to ‘frog’. Diegetically explained as inherited from Primitive Elvish *kapro, from the root *kap- (‘to leap’).
