Lojban
[edit]Etymology
[edit]In Lojbanized spelling.
- Chinese: zai — 在 (zài)
- English: at — at
- Hindi: upastit — उपस्थित (upasthit)
- Spanish: asist — asistir
- Russian: prisutstvav — присутствовать (prisutstvovatʹ)
- Arabic: xadir — حَاضِر (ḥāḍir)
Pronunciation
[edit]Root
[edit]zvati (rafsi zva)
- (be (present/located)) at; x1 (object/event) is at/attending/present at x2 (event/location [refers to a nonce location for an object/activity that is mobile])
Usage notes
[edit]- The gismu zvati has a simplest gloss translation of "be" as in "be (located at)": it need not have any connotation of purposefully or intentionally being somewhere as in "attend (an event)" or "be present (at an assembly)".
