Lojban

[edit]

Etymology

[edit]

In Lojbanized spelling.

Pronunciation

[edit]

Root

[edit]

zvati (rafsi zva)

  1. (be (present/located)) at; x1 (object/event) is at/attending/present at x2 (event/location [refers to a nonce location for an object/activity that is mobile])
la jan. cu zvati le barja
    Zhang is at the bar.

Usage notes

[edit]
  • The gismu zvati has a simplest gloss translation of "be" as in "be (located at)": it need not have any connotation of purposefully or intentionally being somewhere as in "attend (an event)" or "be present (at an assembly)".
