Appendix:Kamba numbers
In , the system of creating numbers is very simple and can be easily done. Though, all cardinal numbers are still inflected by the noun that they are referring to.
Cardinal Numbers
[edit]In Kamba, cardinal numbers are inflected just as nouns would be. In Kamba, after 10, where in English we would add "-teen" at the end of the final number (except for eleven and twelve), "ikumi na -" is added before the number that is in question. (e.g. ikumi na keri, sixteen)
In all cases, the number follows the noun. For example:
Mundu yumwe, one man
Imanda idatu, three cakes
When an adjective is used to act upon the noun, the number will come after the adjective. For example:
Mundu mucheo yumwe, one good man
Matumbi manini thandatu, six small eggs
