A

- The card marked using a single pip. This may either rank highest or the lowest based on the game.

- A trick-taking card game normally played by four players with two partnering against the other two.

- A card game, using two packs, similar to rummy, where the object is to meld groups of the same rank.
- clubs
- One of the four suits of playing cards, marked with the symbol ♣.

- To distribute cards to the players in a game.
- deal
- The distribution of cards to players; a player's turn for this.
- deuce
- A card with two spots, one of four in a standard deck of playing cards.
- diamonds
- One of the four suits of playing cards, marked with the symbol ♦.

- To play a card of the same suit as the previous or leading card.

- The card ranking between the ten and queen of any suit, picturing a knave or prince on its face, and in some card games having a value of eleven.
- joker
- A playing card that features a picture of a joker (that is, a jester) and that may be used as a wild card in some card games.

- A playing card with the image of a king on it.
O

- To be of a higher rank than.
- overbid
- To announce a goal, before starting play that exceeds the goal actually achieved.

- A full set of playing cards; also, the assortment used in a particular game; as, a euchre pack.
- poker
- Any of various card games in which, following each of one or more rounds of dealing or revealing the cards, the players in sequence make tactical bets or drop out, the bets forming a pool to be taken either by the sole remaining player or, after all rounds and bets have been completed, by those remaining players who hold a superior hand according to a standard ranking of hand values for the game.

- To mix up cards in a random order before a card game.
- spades
- One of the four suits of playing cards, marked with the symbol ♠.
- suit
- Each of the sets of a pack of cards distinguished by color and/or specific emblems, such as the spades, hearts, diamonds, or clubs of traditional Anglo, Hispanic, and French playing cards.
