[edit]Gikun word derived by applying Chinese-derived spelling 穹蒼 (“firmament”), a term which decomposes into 穹 (“arching, vault”) + 蒼 (“blue”), to native Japanese word or the same meaning おおぞら (ōzora, “firmament”).
