[edit]From Avestan 𐬀𐬢𐬭𐬀⸱𐬨𐬀𐬌𐬥𐬌𐬌𐬎 (aŋra.mainiiu), from 𐬀𐬢𐬭𐬀 (aŋra, “evil”) + 𐬨𐬀𐬌𐬥𐬌𐬌𐬎 (mainiiu, “spirit”). Doublet of Ahriman.
