From Medieval Latin Anatolia, from Ancient Greek ἀνατολή (anatolḗ, sunrise, place from where the sun rises, the east), from ἀνατέλλω (anatéllō, I rise), from ἀνά (aná, up) + τέλλω (téllō, to rise).
