[edit]- A taxonomic species within the family Amaryllidaceae – desert onion, largeflower wild onion, native to the southwest of the United States and the northwest of Mexico, of a pink umbel of many flowers with ovate-lanceolate bracts with a purple midrib in each, obovoid 4cm long and 2cm thick bulb, 2 cm long and 2–4 mm wide leaves, strong in taste and repelling insects.
