- pejorative adjectival suffix, often indicating tendency to or abundance of
- saim (“grease, fat”) + -llyd → seimllyd (“greasy”)
- rhew (“ice, frost”) + -llyd → rhewllyd (“icy, frosty”)
- rhagfarn (“prejudice”) + -llyd → rhagfarnllyd (“prejudiced”)
- chwerthin (“to laugh”) + -llyd → chwerthinllyd (“laughable, risible”)
Usage notes
[edit]-lyd and -llyd are variants of the same suffix. -llyd is found after n, r and w and -lyd after other letters. The exception is m, which can be followed be either -lyd or -llyd.
