Suffix

-hookya (verb suffix)

1. Coordinating conjunction verb suffix; but, however, yet, although

   Wiikihookya fabassa.

   He is heavy although he is thin.

Usage notes

• -hookya and its variants are generally suffixed to verbs not marked for tense, aspect, or modality even though they may occur after any non-final suffix.
• The -hookya suffix is always appended to the first verb in the coordinating construction.

-hookya (nominal suffix)

1. Indefinite or inferential word suffix: “every” in affirmative sentences & “any” in negative sentences.

   ‎nanna (“something”) + ‎-hookya → ‎nannahookya (“everything/anything”)

2. Noun suffix translatable as “everything like” or “anything like”

   Ofiꞌookya woochi.

   Anything like a dog barks.
