-esyen
Appearance
Malay
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Borrowed from English -ation, from Latin -ātiō. Doublet of -esen, -sen, -asi, -si, and -syen
Pronunciation
[edit]Suffix
[edit]-esyen (Jawi spelling ـيشن)
Usage notes
[edit]In newer adaptations of English loanwords ending in -ation, alongside with -esen, this is now replaced by -asi in an effort to make the ending of words of this kind uniform with its Dutch-derived counterparts in Indonesian (compare konvokesyen for convocation and implementasi for implementation).
