  1. (causative suffix) Added to a verb to indicate a meaning of to cause someone or something to do something, or to cause a change in state of a non-volitional event.
    ತಿನ್ನು (tinnu, to eat) + ‎-ಇಸು (-isu) → ‎ತಿನ್ನಿಸು (tinnisu, to feed)
    ಮಲಗು (malagu, to sleep) + ‎-ಇಸು (-isu) → ‎ಮಲಗಿಸು (malagisu, to put to sleep)
  2. Used to form verbs from nouns or adjectives.
    ಉಪಯೋಗ (upayōga, a use, a usage) + ‎-ಇಸು (-isu) → ‎ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸು (upayōgisu, to make use, to put to use, to utilize)
