[edit]From Iranian *-čan. Compare Parthian [script needed] (-cn /-čan/) in [script needed] (šʾdcn /šādčan/, “happy”), Sogdian [script needed] (-cn /-čan/, “inclined to; belonging to”), ultimately from Proto-Indo-Iranian *kan-, *čan- (“to love, take pleasure in”).
