1. Used to form the plural form of regular nouns.

   ‎тылгылӈын (“finger”) + ‎-увʼвʼи → ‎тылгувʼвʼи (“(many) fingers”)

   ‎ӄураӈа (“reindeer”) + ‎-вʼвʼи → ‎ӄуравʼвʼи (“(many) reindeer”)

2. (with the suffix -на) used to indicate plural objects, many of something.

   тынун вапаӄ → тынунавʼвʼи вапаӄавʼвʼи

   I ate a fly agaric → I ate (many) fly agarics

Usage notes

In colloquial speech, the ending -вʼвʼи is frequently reduced to -в or removed entirely.
