Representing a human phallus. During the Old Kingdom, this glyph was used to represent the organ and the concepts it represented, while 𓂺

was used to represent the actions the organ performed or the substances issued from it. During the Middle Kingdom, usage of these two signs differed and became less consistent. This glyph was conventionally colored red.

1. Determinative for "male", such as in ɾꜣ (“ass”), ṯꜣy (“male, man”), and kꜣ (“bull”).
2. Phonetic mt, such as in mtwt (“poison”) and ḫmt (“three”)
