Verb

[edit]

𑘡𑘚𑘜𑘹 (naḍaṇe) (Devanagari नडणे) (intransitive)

  1. to obstruct, to get in the way
    • 1290, Jñāneśvar, Jñāneśvarī (Rājvāḍe edition) 6.313:
      𑘥𑘿𑘨𑘳𑘩𑘝𑘰𑘽 𑘦𑘰𑘐𑘱𑘩𑘲𑘎𑘚𑘹𑙁 𑘦𑘎𑘰𑘨𑘰𑘓𑘹𑘽𑘓𑘱 𑘁𑘽𑘐 𑘡𑘚𑘹𑙁
      𑘭𑘚𑘹𑘧𑘰 𑘢𑘿𑘨𑘰𑘜𑘰 𑘭𑘰𑘽𑘎𑘚𑘹𑘽𑙁 𑘐𑘐𑘡𑘰 𑘧𑘹𑘝𑘰𑘽𑙂
      bhrulatāṃ māgilīkaḍe. makārāceṃci āṃga naḍe.
      saḍeyā prāṇā sāṃkaḍeṃ. gaganā yetāṃ.
The ‘m’ of the sacred syllable cannot enter the space behind the brow,
for the life-force moving alone fails to reach that etheric space.
