[edit]Inherited from Prakrit 𑀓𑀧𑁆𑀧𑀽𑀭 (kappūra), from Sanskrit 𑘎𑘨𑘿𑘢𑘴𑘨 (karpū́ra). Doublet of 𑘎𑘨𑘿𑘢𑘳𑘨 (karpura). Compare Old Gujarati कपूरि (kapūri, instrumental singular), Old Hindi कपूर (kapūra), Old Punjabi ਕਪੂਰੁ (kapūru).
