Etymology

Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kičüg (small). Cognate with Chuvash кӗҫӗн (kĕś̬ĕn), Turkish küçük (small), Uzbek kichik, Bashkir кесе (kese), Yakut куччугуй (kuccuguy). Compare also Hungarian kicsiny, a Turkic borrowing.
