[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kičüg (“small”). Cognate with Chuvash кӗҫӗн (kĕś̬ĕn), Turkish küçük (“small”), Uzbek kichik, Bashkir кесе (kese), Yakut куччугуй (kuccuguy). Compare also Hungarian kicsiny, a Turkic borrowing.
