[edit]From earlier *Friyapatiš, whence also Achaemenid Elamite 𒂟𒊑𒅀𒁁𒋾𒆜 (pír-ri-ia-bat-ti-iš /Piriabatiš/), from Proto-Iranian *FriHyápatiš, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *PriHyápatiš, from *priHyás (“beloved”) + *pátiš (“master”). Cognate with Sanskrit प्रियपति (priyápati).[1]
