From Proto-Iranian *Mujrฤyah, ultimately derived from Proto-Semitic *muแนฃr-ฤ- (โ€œEgyptโ€). Compare Akkadian ๐’ˆฌ๐’€ซ (muแนฃru), Ugaritic ๐ŽŽ๐Ž•๐Ž—๐ŽŽ (mแนฃrm /โ miแนฃrฤmaโ /), Hebrew ืžึดืฆึฐืจึทื™ึดื (miแนฃrรกyim), and Achaemenid Elamite ๐’ˆฌ๐’„‘๐’๐’Š‘๐’…€ (mu-iแนฃ-แนฃa-ri-ia).[1]
