ππ πΉπΊπ½π΄πΉπ½π
Appearance
Gothic
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From *ππ πΉπΊπ½πΎπ°π½ (*swiknjan) + -π΄πΉπ½π (-eins). It should be noted that each of the apparent attestations of this word (all in the accusative singular) could also be forms of ππ πΉπΊπ½π΄πΉ (swiknei, βpurityβ), which is attested unambiguously elsewhere (in the nominative singular) and is thus confirmed to exist. However, at least the three attestations in the Skeireins fragments do seem in their context to be meant to be interpreted as purification rather than purity, which would point to the existence of this word as separate from the aforementioned ππ πΉπΊπ½π΄πΉ (swiknei).
