  1. A symbol for the ascia, a workman's tool of uncertain identification (perhaps an adze), found in funerary inscriptions, typically in the sequence D 𐆜 M, where D M stand for diis manibus 'for the manes'. Particular to Gaul, especially around the city of Lyons.
