[edit]Sino-Korean word from 조선(朝鮮) (joseon, “Korea”) + 민주주의(民主主義) (minjujuui, “democracy”) + 인민(人民) (inmin, “people”) + 공화국(共和國) (gonghwaguk, “republic”).
