Etymology 1

First attested as Early Modern Korean 뎨육 (tyeyywuk) in the Baktongsa eonhae (朴通事諺解 / 박통사언해), :5a, 1677, ultimately from Middle Chinese 猪肉 (MC trjo nyuwk, literally “pig meat”). Equivalent to an umlauted form of 저육(猪肉) (jeoyuk).
