Etymology

[edit]

From Japanese ()ったり()たり (ittari kitari, back and forth, literally going and coming), but with the Japanese verb stems replaced by Korean 오다 (oda, to come) and 가다 (gada, to go). The past tense forms with (-eot-) were chosen to better match the Japanese pronunciation.
