[edit]From Middle Korean 스싀〮로〮 (susúy-lwó, “by oneself”), from Old Korean 自衣以 (SUSuy-lwo), from 自衣 (SUSuy, “oneself”) + 以 (-lwo, “by”, instrumental marker). The independent noun survived into fifteenth-century Middle Korean but is now lost.
