[edit]First attested in the Seokbo sangjeol (釋譜詳節 / 석보상절), 1447, as Middle Korean 소홈〮 (Yale: swòhwóm), through Early Modern Korean 소오롬 (swowolwom) / 소오름 (swowolum). However, this term is not cited during the 16th & 17th centuries. Cognate with Jeju 소름 (soreum).
