First attested in the Seokbo sangjeol (釋譜詳節 / 석보상절), 1447, as Middle Korean ᄉᆞ〮ᄅᆞ다〮 (Yale: sólò-tá), a causative form of ᄉᆞᆯ〮다〮 (Yale: sól-tá, “id.”).
