Etymology
[edit]된장 (doenjang, “soybean paste”) + 풀 (pul, “grass; plant”). This plant is very mildly poisonous, just enough to kill insects but with no adverse effect in humans. It was traditionally used as an ingredient in soybean paste to kill worms.
