[edit]Analysable as 눈 (nun, “snow”) + *보라 (*bora), with the second element sometimes compared with Mongolian бороо (boroo, “rain”), Manchu ᠪᡠᡵᠠᠨ (buran, “snow storm”) or Azerbaijani boran (“blizzard”).
