[edit]From Hindi गुलाब जामुन (gulāb jāmun), from गुलाब (gulāb, “rosewater”), in turn from Classical Persian گلاب (gulāb), from گل (gul, “rose”) + آب (āb, “water”), and जामुन (jāmun, “jambul”).
