First attested in the 18th century.

Nativisation of the Sino-Korean term 관혁 (貫革, gwanhyeok, “target (lit. to pierce the leather)”). Compare 관하다 (, gwanhada, “to hit the target; to pierce”).

Displaced native (sol).
